Periwinkle Dogwoods Enameled Fused Glass Earrings

All fused glass pieces are crafted in Gatlinburg, Tennessee by artist Kimberly Bylo. The artist starts with a background color of glass, and uses powdered enamels to add atmosphere and variation of color to the piece of glass. After the first firing in a kiln the enamel is permanently set on the glass like a glaze. Thereafter the artist paints the imagery on the glass with a mica white liquid enamel, then fires the piece again, permanently setting the image on the glass. Each piece is individually hand painted and unique.
